THE PERFORMER

Sean Choolburra is a vibrant, dynamic and captivating performer. Fuse his engaging energy, alongside historical facts, spiritual wisdom, depth of ancestral understanding and knowledge and you have one very exciting and talented cultural ambassador.

Sean trained and toured internationally with the Bangarra Dance Company and he was the creator and leader of the Naroo Dancers. Most recently his workshops have taken on a more entertaining and humorous nature as his career continues to flourish, grow and develop into an accomplished MC and Comedian.

He has toured schools and colleges throughout Australia, Canada, Japan and New Zealand for over 15 years with his unique cultural program.

THE PERFORMANCE

Sean combines a riveting and highly energetic programme of dance, stories, paint and fire creation, didgeridoo playing with a wonderful array of artefacts from fishing nets to hunting shields.

Students are encouraged to dance, sing, and participate! Dances from Eastern Cape York and the Gulf of Carpentaria are included. The programme concludes with some Hip Hop and other contemporary favorites of Seans.

Sean is Townsville born and raised, his ancestors are Gu-Gu-Yalanji, Kalkadoon, Kandju and Bwgcolman from around Townsville and Palm Island.
